As a beautiful song says, dreams are meant to be fulfilled at Christmas. This year, I am fortunate enough to fulfill one of my dreams at Christmas, and I hope you will be there with me. My Christmas concert this year will be accompanied by the Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra Ostrava, which I have admired for years. The accompaniment of my well-known hits and Christmas songs by these 80 Ostrava musicians is not all. The Janáček Philharmonic Orchestra has kindly agreed to perform the Christmas Mass composed by my father, Vladimír Rotter, an Ostrava composer, organist, and choir conductor, when I was one year old. This Mass will be performed with their soloists and a 40-member choir.
I have listened to this beautiful Christmas Mass of my father’s since childhood – at home, during church choir rehearsals, and at Christmas in the church. It has always been an integral part of my family’s Christmas holidays. My dream this Christmas is for you to experience my father’s lovely Christmas Mass, which I have so dearly loved, performed by the magnificent Ostrava Philharmonic.
The last Sunday of Advent this year at the O₂ arena will be a truly special day for me, and I hope it will be for you too. I am looking forward to seeing you. Yours, Maruška.“
