The original czech cast of Jesus Christ Superstar will revive the musical in a concert version on 28 December 2024 at the O2 arena.
The musical Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber was performed at the Spirála Theatre at the Prague Exhibition Grounds from 1994 to 1998. This was the very first production of the work in the Czech Republic, with Tim Rice’s libretto translated by Michael Prostějovský.
The musical ran for 1,288 performances, attracting over 850,000 audience members and leaving an unforgettable impression on all who experienced it.
This year, the legend returns in a concert version. Picture the original star-studded cast: Kamil Střihavka as Jesus, Dan Bárta as Judas, and Bára Basiková as Mary Magdalene. Imagine other familiar faces from the original Spirála Theatre production we all loved, along with nearly the original band, a string orchestra, and a powerful choir. Set in the largest venue in the Czech Republic, with an impressive staging, this special performance will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the premiere, honoring this remarkable work and delighting all its fans.
This December 28, between the holidays, at the O2 arena Prague.
Jesus for Christmas—there’s no better way to celebrate.
