Staropramen beer will still be on tap in the O2 arena and O2 universum.
Staropramen Breweries won the tender for the largest multifunctional hall in the Czech Republic for the third time.
“The cooperation with Staropramen, dare I say partnership, has been going on for twenty years and we are very happy that we can continue it. Staropramen is not just a supplier of quality products for us, but a reliable partner who understands our operational needs. Even if the fans drink all the beer during the unexpectedly long playoff game on Saturday, we are sure that we will have something to sell again the next day on Sunday during the next event, ” said Robert Schaffer, Chairman of the Board of Bestsport, a.s.
The O2 arena, with attendance exceeding one million people annually, attracted four prestigious breweries to the tender.
The selection process assessed product quality, delivery capability and marketing support for the next years of cooperation. Staropramen Brewery, the producer of one of the most popular beers among Czech and foreign consumers, will continue to supply all the taps in the O2 arena and the O2 universum.
“We are very pleased that Staropramen will continue to be the official beer of the O2 arena and that the brand will be present at prestigious cultural and sporting events. We greatly appreciate the long-standing partnership with Bestsport, a.s. and we will do our best to remain a reliable supplier of quality beer,” said Teo Ćendo, Director of Pivovary Staropramen s.r.o.
The O2 arena and the entire beer farm were established in 2004 on the occasion of the Ice Hockey World Championship. The beer management of the largest Czech multifunctional arena has been taken care of by the so-called brewmaster for many years. This is an experienced professional with many years of experience directly at the Staropramen brewery who supervises the maintenance, regular cleaning of the system and quality control of the beer.
Unpasteurised Staropramen tank beer arrives at the O2 arena very quickly – usually within one hour of being drawn into the tanks at the brewery. In the O2 arena, the fresh unpasteurised beer is pumped into four tanks in a cool room with an ideal temperature of 4 °C, reminiscent of a brewery cellar. From there, a 2.7-kilometre-long beer pipeline, divided into eight circuits, leads to a total of 168 fast-fill taps and 24 standard taps with a capacity of more than 30,000 beers per 15 minutes.
